Head Coach, Scott Rogers was delighted with his side's 1-0 victory over European and World champions Turkey in the first ever EAFF Nations League on Friday but reiterated the importance of refocusing ahead of today's encounter with hosts Poland.
“It’s important we enjoyed the result yesterday but we quickly get back to work now.
“Poland put in a great performance and result against Spain so they will offer us a tough test. We will regroup, refocus and we will be ready to go again.”
Speaking after Friday's victory, Rogers said: "Today was an opportunity to come up against the best team in the world. I couldn’t be prouder of the team for what they have achieved today."
“The attitude the boys have shown was outstanding. We had a clear plan and they executed that plan perfectly. We ask the boys to ‘trust the process’ and that’s exactly what they did.
“I believe this team can compete at the very highest level and this performance is evidence of that.”
A goal from veteran forward David Tweed was enough for all three points, but it was the teenager between the sticks, Thomas Atkinson who received the gaffer's praises.
“Thomas was outstanding today.
“He managed moments within the game really well and made some fantastic saves. We are blessed with two outstanding goalkeepers and either of them could have excelled today.”
England face Poland at 12:30 pm [11:30 UK Time) at the Pradniczanka Stadium, Krakow with live coverage available on our Facebook and TikTok channels.
