Chelsea, Everton, Cambridge City and AFAS FC will battle for the season’s first piece of silverware as The EAFA League Cup returns to Reaseheath College on Saturday (21st March).

The EAFA welcomes supporters to watch all the action in Nantwich as the best amputee footballers in the UK and Ireland face-off in search of honours in the league format tournament.

Chelsea currently sit top of The England Amputee Football League with a 100% record after winning their opening three games.

The Londoners won both The EAFA Cup and The Disability FA Cup last season and have shown positive signs that they can continue adding to their trophy cabinet as their impressive unbeaten run reaches 13 games.

Meanwhile EAFL champions Everton are hot on the heels of the league leaders and see this weekend’s competition as the perfect opportunity to show why they’ve been so dominant in recent seasons.

Despite their sustained league success, domestic cup trophies have eluded The Amputoffees in the last couple of years and with qualification for 2027’s Disability FA Cup Final also up for grabs, expect to see Everton work hard to lift the cup after the day’s play.

Newcomers Cambridge City feature a number of players with tournament know-how, including key figures in last season’s EAFA League Cup winning squad.

The Lilywhites boast a team of England and Irish internationals that are continuing to gel on the pitch. This tournament provides an opportunity for Cambridge City to win their first ever amputee football trophy.

AFAS FC also made their debut in February and left Reaseheath College as the only team to score against Chelsea so far in 2026. Having won the Nations League Group D last year, they will use that experience alongside knowledge gained from February’s league fixtures to compete on Saturday.

With the teams having proved their ability to win trophies over the years, it will be an exciting day of amputee football at Reaseheath College. It is free entry for spectators and the fixtures kick-off at 12:00 with Chelsea facing AFAS FC.

There will be a minute’s silence before the first game to show our respects to Stalin Chanataxi. The Ecuadorian referee made a significant contribution to amputee football over many years, including officiating at the first WAFF Women’s World Cup and was shortlisted to take charge at this year’s WAFF World Cup in Mexico.
