Cup Action Returns This Weekend

The EAFL Cup takes place this weekend, with last year’s winners Portsmouth looking to retain the trophy.

Pompey kick things off on Saturday when they face Everton in the opening semi-final at 12:00, a side they beat 5-2 in the first round of the league in February.

Everton started their new league campaign with a 3-1 over Chelsea, before proving no match for the reigning league and cup champions Portsmouth.

Portsmouth won both games after breezing past Arsenal with a 5-0 victory and will be looking to keep up that excellent start by getting their hands on the silverware once more.

In the other match, it’s a London derby as Arsenal face Chelsea. The Blues will be out for revenge over their rivals after losing 2-1 to them in the league.

Both winners will then meet in the final which is due to be played at 16:00, with the third versus fourth tie taking place before it at 15:00.

Fixtures take place at Reaseheath College, CW5 6DF and supporters are welcome to attend. For more information please contact us.
