The England Amputee Football Association is excited to announce that Amputee Football Association Scotland will enter The England Amputee Football League.

The new partnership between The EAFA and AFAS is an important moment in the development and growth of amputee football in the UK.

Participating as AFAS FC, they become the newest member of The EAFA family by joining Everton, Chelsea and Cambridge City in The England Amputee Football League.

It follows a successful year for Scotland in which they won the EAFF Nations League D in Romania. Now they build on their international triumph by competing in The EAFL, starting with the league’s opening fixtures on Saturday (21st February).

“We’re buzzing for the new season and ready to test ourselves at this level,” said Harris Tinney, who received acclaim for his international performances in the Nations League, leaving Romania as both top scorer and best young player.

“We want to be competitive every week and prove we belong in the league.

“The partnership between The EAFA and AFAS is massive for the growth of amputee football in the UK,” Harris continues. “It raises standards and creates real opportunities for players.”

Amputee Football Association Scotland’s Iain Matthew, a Paralympic gold medal winner, agrees with Tinney and is proud to see AFAS FC step into a new challenge.

“Amputee Scotland are looking forward to joining the league in England. We feel that playing against players of a high standard will only improve the players.”

Spectators are encouraged to experience amputee football live as the clubs begin their quest for silverware. It is free entry to watch all the day’s action at Reaseheath College, Nantwich.
